A New Kind of Calendar App, “months,” Officially Launches for iOS – Making Everyday Schedule Management More Intuitive and Free
“months,” a calendar app that redefines the way you manage your schedule, has finally launched officially on iOS. Built on the philosophy of “making the flow of time more free,” the app pursues a UI and UX that lets users grasp their schedules more intuitively and manage them comfortably.
The months Concept: Free Schedule Management Unbound by the “Month”
In conventional calendar apps, the framework of “one month = one page” has been taken for granted. But “months” breaks with that convention, adopting an interface that lets you check and edit events seamlessly across months by scrolling vertically. This makes it possible to see, at a glance, both the events that tend to be overlooked at “month boundaries” and the overall picture of your long-term schedule.
Key Features
- Vertical-scroll calendar: An interface that lets you check events seamlessly across months by scrolling vertically. This makes it possible to see, at a glance, both the events that tend to be overlooked at “month boundaries” and the overall picture of your long-term schedule.
- Designed for one-handed use: The main controls are consolidated at the bottom of the screen, so the app is comfortable to operate with one hand even on large displays.
- Pin your search history: By pinning specific events or keywords, you can perform repeated searches more quickly. It’s also convenient for business use.
- Widget, Dynamic Type, and Dark Mode support: Making the most of the latest iOS features, the app offers flexible display options tailored to your preferences.
- Rokuyo and Japanese-era date display: With display features attuned to Japanese culture, the app is ideal for managing schedules that take ceremonial occasions and traditional events into account.
About the Subscription Model
To make “months” even better, we have adopted a subscription model. What we aim for is to keep providing you with “the best possible experience.” And to do that, continuous development, the addition of new features, and ever-improving quality are essential.
By adopting a subscription model, we can build a stable foundation for operations and secure the resources needed to grow the app into something better. This makes it possible for us to deliver an app that doesn’t stop at short-term improvements but continues to stay by your side from a long-term perspective.
A one-month free trial period is also available, so you can comfortably experience how it feels to use.
Background to the Development
“months” was jointly planned and developed by developer Masayuki Iwai and designer Shinya Kaneda. The project began from the desire “to create a tool that makes even the time you spend checking your schedule pleasant, and brings a little more enjoyment to your days.” Its meticulously crafted design embodies that philosophy.
